WE WANT YOUR IDEAS AS PART OF THE PRE-PRODUCTION OF THE NEW FLIGHT CENTRE BOOK:
Subscribe below to create or vote on options for book titles, ideas on artwork for the front cover, photos to be included, answer survey questions, be in the running for launch party invites, offer your story ideas, and much more. Twenty subscribers will also be randomly selected to become the New Book Street Team, with extra benefits such as beta reading of the first draft manuscript, and other early access features.
ABOUT THE NEW BOOK:
This new definitive book to replace Family, Village, Tribe, will focus on FCTG’s evolution from a bus company founded by two veterinarians with no business background, into a multi-billion dollar global organisation. Its emphasis will be on resilience, covering the history, the highs and lows, the achievements and mistakes, as well as the business lessons learned. The intention is to make it a great read for both internal FC people and the general public alike. Estimated publication date – early 2026.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED:
We’d like you to come on the book-writing journey with us so here is how you can be involved:

HAVE YOUR SAY ON THE NEW FC BOOK – Get updates straight to your inbox. We’ll be asking your advice on book covers and titles, included photos and story ideas, put you in the running for launch party invites, plus be posting interesting/unusual FC facts, interview video links, survey results and more. Twenty subscribers will also be selected randomly to become part of the new book Street Team to pre-read the draft manuscript and have early access to other features. You can subscribe here.

Book Title Competition – Come up with a winning title and your name will appear in the new book. Thanks to Thilini Munasinghe from Flight Centre’s Enterprise Technology Services in Brisbane who came up with the fab chapter title Wheels To Wings this month. Click here for more details and how to enter.

FC Survey – We’re gathering information from FCTG people all around the world to use as research in the new book. If you’d like to take the quick 10 minute survey and help us get more insight into the organisation, click here .

Have a great story you think is book-worthy? Email it to me in 500 words or less. It’s such a big rich story that 90% of material will end up on the cutting room floor, but if you think you have an unmissable gem of a story, good, bad or ugly, please send it in. If I think I can use it in a chapter I will contact you directly. Send all story ideas to enquiries@mandyjohnson.co

FCTG Historical Material: When we get closer to publication we’ll be asking for your help to collect additional historical material such as photos, interviews, videos, PowerPoint presentations, YouTube clips and so on. We’ll be using these both for the book publication and also as part of a new FCTG Museum website. If you think you have some that might suit, hang on to them until we put the call out on the book update subscriber’s site.
